Alone In The World, Neither Here Nor There,
Nothing Is As It seems.
A drug induced slumber, I can't help but wonder,
Are you real, or made of dreams.
6:02 AM EST, A New Day In The Old Town,
The Same Old Story.
Bound again to wander streets, when one no longer bears to sleep,
Entranced by blissful glory.
Over There, Over There, The Road Not Taken,
And Those We Left Behind.
Down a path bereft of tread, a curious thought befalls my head,
A thought of ill conception of the far from conscious mind.
One Night In October, Night Of Desirable Objects,
Back Where You've Never Been.
Belief in a world that doesn't exist, requires less
of a mind that will not be missed,
A sharp shot to the the brain, and so it begins.
The No-Brainer, The Dreamscape,
Grey Matters, no more...
Momentum Deferred from a life without cause,
Dream Logic is always preferred to reality's laws.
Of Human Action is the White Tulip grown,
for The Transformation, Unleashed, only one may atone.
There's More Than One Of Everything,
Of red or of gold,
the Ability to choose is for the Observer to behold.
A Short Story About Love will never be told quite the same,
So if my words leave you ponderous calmly take your
LSD, and Concentrate And Ask Again.
Written for a poetry contest. Useing titles from episodes of one of the greatest shows ever made; Fringe. One of my personal favorites.
